Montreal Arrival 2011

Note: This schedule applied to Bike Rally 2012. Final details for Bike Rally 2013 will be posted when finalized.

All Riders met at the rendezvous point and lunch at the beginning of the Lachine Canal by 2:00 pm. Riders then traveled together into Montréal. For many, this was the highlight of their journey – a long line of Bike Rally Jerseys stretching as far as the eye can see.

As the riders made their way towards their final destination, the Crew left the route to unload their gear and prepare the arrival area.

Montreal Accommodation

Riders and Crew had the option of staying at the accommodation provided by the Bike Rally at the University of Montreal Residence (UQAM) or making their own arrangements for Friday, August 3, 2012.

Accommodations at UQAM were provided for all Crew until our return trip to Toronto on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 8:30 am.

Unpacking

As the Rustlers were celebrating and taking part in the group photo and needed to prepare for our arrival, there was no access to the Rustler Trucks during the arrival ceremonies.

After the celebration, participants proceeded to the UQAM Residences where the trucks were parked. Riders stopped at the trucks first to load their bikes into the trucks to be returned to Toronto taking all personal belongings from their bicycle and saddle bag (helmet, wallet, ID, keys, etc.) and ensuring the licence plate was still attached before it was loaded onto the truck. Once loaded on the truck, there was no access to bicycles or forgotten items until pick-up in Toronto.

Please note that while the Rubbermaid Rustlers treat your bikes with care, they are not responsible for any loss or damage. If Riders are concerned about the paint on their bicycles, we recommend using newspapers, foam pipe insulation or bubble wrap to protect your bicycle frame before loading it into the trucks.

After unpacking and reloading, all trucks are locked and the contents are not accessible again until first pick-up day back in Toronto.

Once we'd unpacked our bins, we proceeded to UQAM to pick up our room key or to other pre-arranged accommodations. Get ready for the Arrival Party!

REMINDER: Any medication that is stored in the RV must be picked up before 6:00 pm from the Wellness Lead. You are not able to pick up your meds after 6:00 pm. The Wellness Crew is disbanded after 6:00 pm. IN CASE OF A MEDICAL EMERGENCY please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital (across the street from UQAM) if you require medical attention.
