Use our "7 reasons why supporting the Friends for Life Bike Rally makes good philanthropic sense"

  1. The cause: Proceeds from the Friends for Life Bike Rally benefit the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation. The Toronto People With AIDS Foundation exists to promote the health and well-being of all people living with HIV/AIDS by providing accessible, direct, and practical support services.
  2. Size matters: The Bike Rally is the largest fundraising event for the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation, and the 3rd largest AIDS fundraiser in Canada. The Bike Rally makes the work of the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation possible.
  3. The attention: The Bike Rally is an exceptional public and media relations machine. Consider this on top of the fact that our 300 participants bring much needed awareness to HIV/AIDS issues in Toronto, and throughout the entire route to Montreal. They are ambassadors to the cause.
  4. Feel good about it: Supporting Bike Rally participants is a good thing to do. Consider everything they're willing to do for such a great cause - taking a week off to participate, spending countless hours in physical training, and raising a minimum of $2200.
  5. Efficiency: All related expenses, including appropriate staff salary allocations, have been considered in calculating this amount. Over the last few years, the Bike Rally's net results have improved and we are continually looking to reduce our costs and increase our earned revenue.
  6. Compare: CRA guidelines suggest event net proceeds should exceed 50% of gross revenue. Many large scale events are challenged in achieving this goal, due to their size. When you consider that the Bike Rally is a 6 day, 600 km, 300 person, fully supported event, then beating 50% becomes exceptional. We're doing it.
  7. Bonus: You'll even get a charitable tax receipt for making a positive difference!
