Students for an Environmentally Active Campus sponsor a concert powered by stationary bicycles!

Last month in Milwaukee, Wisconsin a three hour concert by the band, Off the Grid with a Soulful Purpose, was powered by six stationary bikes. Who did the pedalling? The audience! Taking turns on the bikes, audience members generated enough power to run the concert's lights, instruments and sound equipment.

"We want to demonstrate that you can use less power without compromising the quality of the product," said band technician Dan O'Brien.
