Hello everyone,
I've just had a lovely rest. Here's some words to describe what I experienced on the food crew at the bike rally.
Excitement, hard work, team building, intense heat, the best cool-off swim of my life, "meat, non-meat, tuna or cheese" (serving lunch), carrying big jugs of water, acknowledging and revealing humanness in everyone, driving on the open road with my "sweet potato", weight-lifting water, the spaciousness of my new tent, delicious food, camaraderie, lugging water, dancing, falling asleep instantly, making recycling signs, taking in new sights, showering Charlotte with cheery balloons, coming home.
Food crew is the non-glamourous part of the bike rally, but it was just what I needed to do.
I'm proud to have been part of raising over $800,000 for People with Aids foundation, and I learned so much about teamwork, volunteerism and testing my physical strength (did I mention water?).

I'm really finished!
I am really finished my degree - I can hardly believe it.
It's been a long road, but I feel proud and ready to take on an active vacation - driving a big truck, helping feed riders and cheering like crazy next week.
Thanks to everyone for the sponsorships- I raised over 600$ for the People With AIDS foundation!

Hot times, summer in the city
It's hot in T.O.!
Thankfully I can bike home through the lovely Don Valley trail system, where shade and breezes cool me down.
When I first started this blog, I remember writing that 14K was a huge stretch, but that I expected it would feel much easier soon. Well, I'm happy to report that that is very true. I biked for an hour tonight, and it went by so quickly and enjoyably.
As I finish my final internship, I have a lot on my mind - biking is a nice way to process thoughts and feelings that build up over the day.

187 KM in May!
I don't think I've ever tracked my distance on the bike before - It is very encouraging to think I've biked this much!

They say ingesting a lot of protein on a ride is a good thing...
Unless it's a mouthful of little bugs!
This morning I was riding 14K in the Don Valley, and opened my mouth to breathe in some lovely fresh spring air... I was coughing for 2 full minutes (and then laughing as I thought of this little joke for the blog)

A difficult decision... switch from Rider to Crew
After much thought, I have decided to switch from being a rider to being a crew member on the Friends For Life Bike Rally. On the Food Crew, I will be assisting with feeding/hydrating the riders for the week.
Thanks to all who have sponsored me so far -- as a crew I can still be sponsored!
I will still be blogging my bike training, and will keep you updated on the crew and rally preparations.
