To get the most out of your experience with the Bike Rally, we recommend that you take the time to enjoy your ride. The Bike Rally is not a race, so find a pace that is comfortable and safe for you.

However, we do require all Riders must check into camp by 5:30pm each day, as we all have to get up early and do it again the next day! Keep in mind that the Road Safety Crew will be out on the road before the Riders depart each morning and they do not finish until the very last Rider arrives at the campsite – these are very long days for our hardworking volunteers.

This is especially important on Day 2, which is usually the most challenging day for Riders. At about 126km, Day 2 is the longest of the route and may also be the one of the few times some Riders have attempted two very long rides on back-to-back days. But don't get discouraged - Road Safety will be there to support and cheer you on, and once Day 2 is finished, most Riders find the rest of the week much easier. If Road Safety is concerned about your ability to reach the campsite by 5:30pm, they will notify you and may offer you a lift to the next break.

  • *If you take your friend’s bins, or they take yours (because you’re camping together), please be sure to communicate this to each other in advance. This will save us all precious time and panic rushing around trying to find the "missing" belongings.
  • *For those of you who have air mattresses, each truck will have an air pump (plugged into the cigarette lighter) for your convenience.
  • Set up your tent in area of campsite designated for the Rally
  • Load your bike on your assigned truck if you wish. Rubbermaid Rustlers will lock their trucks at 9:00pm

Green Tip #2

Take transit or ride your bike to the training rides. One of the biggest impacts you can personally have on the environment is to reduce your reliance on a car. For your training rides - bike to the subway and take transit to the meeting point - as one of our riders pointed out - this has the added benefit of ensuring that you have all your riding gear before you leave home...
