1. Honoured Group Indeed!

Thanks to all Bike Rally participants and PWA staff and supporters who came out to cycle and march with the float in Toronto Pride’s Parade on June 29th. Our Honoured Group status placed us at the front of the parade and we did a great job getting the crowd going! The Bike Rally clap was a huge hit and the “super soaker” water guns made their annual appearance. Overall, a great day was had by all. Many thanks to Michael Taggart and his Seneca College team for the design and construction of our Pride-inspired bicycles.

2. 100KM Training Ride Nutrition

So by now you guys should have a pretty good idea of what your preferences are in terms of fuel. If you remember from my past article there seems to be no superiority between ‘food’ and ‘supplements.’ The only difference seems to be personal preference and/or convenience. I always harp on my clients about fundamentals. If you always remember the fundamentals you will never be mislead by bandwagon supplements, know-it-alls and bias articles. Click here to read more.

3. The Roundup with the Rubbermaid Rustlers

“See you at the Campsite!”

Our first campsite is on the private property of Sanford and Helen Ann Haskill, just west of Port Hope. This generous couple has welcomed us with open arms, letting us camp on their beautiful bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario, since 2005. The huge, grassy expanse becomes a virtual tent city within minutes of our arrival. Don’t wander too close to the edge! Click here to read more.

4. Volunteers Needed for Pick Up Day – July 25th

On Friday, July 25th, 2008, we will be picking up the vehicles, supplies and equipment that are needed for the Bike Rally. While several members of the Steering Committee and Crews help out with the various tasks, we need extra volunteers to help out. There are various locations and times for pick ups and tasks throughout the day. Volunteers who can also drive would be extremely helpful. For more information and to offer your help, please contact Bike Rally Coordinator Jenni Willes at 416-506-8606 ext 631 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

5. Reminder – 100KM Qualifier Deadline – July 6th

Riders are reminded that they must complete at least one 100KM training ride by Sunday, July 6th, 2008. Team Leaders will be in touch with those who have not done so. If you have any questions, please contact your Team Leaders.
