3rd Year on the Bike Rally
This is my third year on the Bike Rally and my second year as Wellness
Crew Chair. It was a little nerve-wracking to take the reins from
Suzanne last year but I had an amazing crew who made my life easy and
Suzanne was close by to give advice and support (thank God!). I'm so
excited to be leading the Wellness Crew for the second year in a row.
It's going to be a great year! You will get a chance to be cared for
by an exceptional group of medics, Registered Nurses, Registered
Massage Therapists, and chiropractors. We are here to make sure you
arrive in Montreal safe and sound. All this to raise money for an
extraordinary organization that cares for those infected and affected
by HIV/AIDS.
Here's to the 10th year! Be well, be safe!

This will be my second year volunteering for the Annual PWA Bike Rally and I couldn't be more excited. As co-lead of the ‘Complementary Care Team' I am responsible for recruiting Chiropractors and RMT's interested in volunteering their time for this extraordinary event. Our team takes care of the riders and crew as we make our 600km trek from Toronto to Montreal.
Last year was such a wonderful experience I decided to return and try to assemble the best team possible for the 10th Anniversary ride. I urge all of you to volunteer in anyway. It is a week full of laughter, joy, excitement, remembrance, thanks and celebration. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done and I cannot wait to do it again. See you there!

2nd year on the Bike Rally
This is my second year on the bike rally and I am excited for another great year helping out for a great cause. Last year I met so many great people and made amazing friends. I'm looking forward to getting more involved this year as the co-lead for the Complementary Therapy Team of the Wellness Crew.

I can't wait to participate in the 10th anniversary Friends for Life ride! I am a Registered Nurse and will be a part of the Wellness Crew. I worked for many years on Medicine units in Toronto and have been working in the field of computerized charting for the last 8 years.
I was a new nurse when this ‘new disease' began to be recognized. I was there as new information about HIV and AIDS was discovered and nursed many people that were battling this unknown virus. It was hoped that there would soon be answers in how to beat this and here we are years later making great strides but as yet no cure. Those early memories have stuck with me.
I have been involved over the last 6 years with the AIDS Committee of Durham region. Two years ago 2 of my brothers completed the ride. Seeing them off and meeting them in Montreal was such an emotional journey that when one of my brothers decided to do the ride again this year I felt that I needed to be a bigger part of this with him. So here I am - one of the nurses on the ride! Looking forward to meeting everyone. Drop by for a chat - even if you don't need our assistance!!

I am an Advanced Care Paramedic in the City of Toronto and an officer with the medical branch of the Canadian Forces. I have several friends that are involved in this event and a couple of people that I know who are affected by this event and what it stands for.
I was more then happy to offer my services and skills to help the riders of this event safely pursue their goal of raising money for such a worthy cause. I look forward to a great trip to Montreal.

2nd year on the Bike Rally
This is my second year on the wellness subcommittee and first year on the Wellness Crew. Last year I participated in Road Safety and we worked closely with wellness on the road to help stress prevention and respond when the unexpected happened. The one thing it taught me is that prevention is always better than cure, so we threw ourselves into recruiting as many RMT’s and Chiropractors as we could to help equip riders with the therapy that sustains them. This way we keep try and keep the paramedics and nurses from an eventful ride. The Wellness committee has been a challenging and fun group and I can’t wait to get out on the road and see all the riders again!

She lives in Oshawa, Ontario with her partner of 18 years, Patricia and, in true lesbian style, their many dogs and cats.
Deborah joins the Ride for the first time this year as a member of the Wellness Team. "The chance to contribute and participate, in the way I know best, was too good to pass up. I have friends who are riding, and it is a great feeling to part of something so big and so important. Balancing the old memories with the new ones is essential; this experience is going to create some wonderful new experiences that will continue to sustain and inspire me. I am happy to be able to "ride" along!"

This is my second year being part of the Wellness Crew, providing massage therapy. Last year was a lot of work, and a lot of fun -- a great experience. I am looking forward to volunteering my skills again to make the ride a little more comfortable for the wonderful people going the distance to raise funds for such a caring organization.
